Stogursey News, August 2024

Two events spurred me on to concoct a few words: the national headlines regarding a couple who moved to South Molton and “felt like aliens” (not our experience in Stogursey); and the evening at the Victory Hall considering the success of the Stogursey Arts Festival. We have lived here for 18 months and enjoyed every minute. We have been accepted and made welcome by everybody we have encountered.

It is brilliant that so many enthusiastic people should have gravitated to this village.

We submitted an exhibit for the Christmas Tree Festival and there met members of SAPS, and were immediately welcomed into the “fold”.

At SAPS's last meeting, plans were laid for its input for the 2024 Arts Festival. This will be centred around the “Village Photographic Archive Project”, this is allencompassing with comparisons of early photographs of the village to more recent times through to scenes and characters of today.

SAPS website should be online soon, allowing all to see the range of photographs that have been collected for posterity.

Are you interested in photography? Whether as a “happy snapper” or a serious exponent, all are welcome at SAPS. Contact via email stogurseysaps@gmail.com.
